Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

O’Brien CPA & Advisory, PLLC operates this website. This policy explains how we handle information associated with website visits, general inquiries and consultation requests. Professional client services may be covered by additional privacy notices and a separate engagement agreement.

Information we receive

When you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, services of interest and message. Phone calls and direct email correspondence may include additional information you voluntarily share.

The website’s forms keep unfinished answers temporarily in browser memory so you can move between pages without retyping them. This draft is separate from analytics and is cleared when the application is reloaded. Submitting a form does not create a client account or professional engagement.

Our hosting and security providers may process technical information needed to serve and protect the website, including IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, timestamps and error or security logs.

How we use information

  • Respond to questions and coordinate an initial conversation.
  • Evaluate the type of assistance you are requesting.
  • Operate, maintain and protect the website and its communications.
  • Understand website use and improve navigation when analytics tools are enabled.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations and address disputes or misuse.

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity

We plan to use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand website use and improve the site. These tools are currently inactive. The following describes the information they may process when enabled.

Google Analytics can measure page visits, referral sources, browser and device characteristics, approximate location and website interactions. Depending on the configuration, it uses cookies or similar identifiers. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or the contents of inquiry messages to Google Analytics. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.

Microsoft Clarity can provide interaction measurements, heatmaps and session replays that show how visitors navigate and interact with pages. It may use cookies and other technologies to associate activity with a visit. We mask the inquiry forms and consultation dialog, including the request summary, to keep their contents out of session recordings. Microsoft processes collected information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

These tools are intended for website measurement and improvement. This website does not offer advertising profiles or a feature for selling visitor information. We will update this policy if our practices change materially.

Cookies and privacy choices

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Analytics tools may use cookies or similar technologies to recognize visits and measure interactions.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser. Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers. Browser controls may not disable every form of measurement, so you can contact us with questions about the configuration in use.

Essential hosting, security and inquiry handling are separate from optional analytics. Contacting us does not sign you up for a newsletter or constitute consent to unrelated marketing.

Service providers and other disclosures

We use service providers as needed to operate the website and respond to inquiries. These include Vercel for website hosting, our business email provider for correspondence, and Mailgun for website email delivery when that integration is enabled. Mailgun may process sender and recipient details, message content and delivery information. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice and Mailgun’s Privacy Policy.

Google and Microsoft receive website usage information when their analytics tools are enabled as described above. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or security, or with your direction. Vendors may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Sensitive information and professional records

Please use the website forms for general inquiries. Do not include Social Security numbers, tax returns, account credentials, bank or payment-card numbers, or other confidential financial documents. If professional services require sensitive records, we will discuss an appropriate way to provide them.

This website policy does not replace any client privacy notice, confidentiality obligation, records policy or security procedures applicable to a professional engagement.

Retention and security

We retain inquiry correspondence as needed to respond, administer our relationship, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal or professional obligations. If you become a client, professional records may be subject to a separate retention schedule. Analytics and vendor logs are governed by the settings and retention policies of the service in use.

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the information and its purpose. No website, email service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us if you believe information has been sent or accessed inappropriately.

Requests about your information

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. Send a request to evan@obriencpa.com or call 830-357-6879. We may need proportionate information to verify your request, but please do not send identity documents or sensitive numbers unless a suitable method has been arranged.

We respond within the periods required by applicable law. Some records may need to be retained for legal or professional reasons. Where an appeal right applies, you can reply to our decision requesting an appeal; we will provide any further complaint information required by law.

Children’s information

This website is intended for adults seeking professional services and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this website. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

Updates and contact

We may update this policy as the website, services or requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Questions about this policy can be sent to O’Brien CPA & Advisory, PLLC at evan@obriencpa.com or 830-357-6879.
